You Rock My World

"You Rock My World" was written by Michael Jackson. It was the lead single from his 2001 album "Invincible". It is yet another song that is about Michael Jackson trying to win a girl's heart. In the comedy introduction to the music video, Michael Jackson, and Chris Tucker reach a club in pursuit of Michael's love interest, Tucker suddenly asks that they "beat it", stating he has a "bad" feeling, suggesting that the girl is "dangerous". While Chris and Michael are eating at the beginning of the video, Chris notes that the girl is a "pretty young thing", and states that "the girl is mine", precipitating a competition between him and Michael to see who will get the girl.

"You Rock My World" was recorded at Record One Studios in Los Angeles from July to September, 2000. The single marked Michael Jackson's 30th anniversary as a solo artist (his first solo single, "Got to Be There", had been released in October 1971). The song was Michael Jackson's last worldwide hit, peaking at number one on the French Singles Chart and the Spanish Singles Chart, and at number two on the UK Singles Chart, and at number ten in the United States, becoming Michael's highest charting single since his 1995 number-one single, "You Are Not Alone".
